Kenneth Blum
Kenneth Blum is an adjunct full professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Florida College of Medicine and Mcknight Brain Institute (Gainesville, Florida). Professor Blum is best known from his study on the genetics of alcoholism published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1990. Working in the fields of neuropsychiatry and genetics, nutritional genetics and pharmacogenetics, Kenneth Blum's research has been recognized through numerous awards. As a former full professor at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Texas, he was also Chief of the Division of Addictive Diseases, Chief of the Division of Substance and Alcohol Misuse, and Director of the Laboratory of Pharmacogenetics at the University of Texas Health Science Center (San Antonio, Texas). Currently, Kenneth Blum is the Chairman of the board and Chief scientific officer of LifeGen Inc (San Diego, California), a nutrigenomic evidence-based corporation; Scientific director of Path Foundation NY, Scientific advisor of Dominion Diagnostics, Neuroscience advisor of Malibu Beach Recovery Center, Scientific officer of G & G Holistic Addiction Treatment Center, North Miami Beach, Florida. He holds numerous patents worldwide and has published 12 books and over 500 articles. He is considered the father of psychiatric genetics.
Nirmal Kumar Ganguly
Nirmal Kumar Ganguly is President of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), and the Asian Institute of Public Health. Professor Ganguly has published 755 research papers and has supervised 130 PhD students in the fields of immunology, biotechnology and public health, with particular emphasis on tropical, cardiovascular and diarrhoeal diseases. He has received 110 Awards over his career and in 2008 he received the Padma Bhushan Award in the field of Medicine from the President of India. He is the former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research, and currently is an Adjunct Professor at Boston University and the University of Minnesota and a member of the Scientific Board of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
